Design defines countries and their way of life. From the day-to-day to its cultural history you experience it everywhere. Taiwan is no different. As a visitor, you notice the fusion of old and new, China's influence, and its fierce attempt at independence. Product and environmental design and public communications tend to lean toward colorful and whimsical, which is a bright spot against the backdrop of the often muted and weather-worn architecture (perhaps a cultural influence from mainland China or Japan).
