What's Old is New

While it is often sad to enter a person’s home (via an estate sale) much as they have left it, there is something about giving old objects a new life that inspires me. This weekend I purchased my very first stand mixer; a vintage chrome Sunbeam Mixmaster from the 1960's (it even has a pudding and white sauce setting). I have resisted this small appliance for so long; maybe I was just waiting to find the right one!

With the adrenaline of a new found treasure I promptly scrubbed the dust from the cracks and crafted a batch of gluten and dairy free blueberry scones. Because, after all, it is blueberry season. They were a delicious treat.
