We set out on a journey around the world and while it wasn't one of our traditional travel adventures - we learned a lot about ourselves and experienced new things. We are travelers at our core and when we couldn't justify an international trip this year we decided exploring food from all around the world would be the next best thing.
We set the bar high, aiming to prepare and consume a dish from each country in the world (190+). To add to the challenge every meal was gluten-free! Working diligently to meet our goal, we ran all over town to collect traditional ingredients, sticking to a cadence of 3-4 meals per week to meet our goal. We held strong until the middle of the year, dining on some of the most delicious food we have ever eaten, discovering foods that prior to this experiment we would have never given the light of day (fish stew is amazing!). A few of our favorites are pictured below; Cambodian peppered steak, crab and avocado salad with black sesame seeds, Moqueca Briana a Brazilian fish stew and lastly, a Sicilian whole tangerine cake.
